Features of GenuTax Standard

Here is a listing of the primary features of GenuTax Standard software:

• Simple, easy-to-understand interview process
  • If you are very familiar with tax concepts, the streamlined interview feature allows you to pre-select the tax subjects that apply to your situation. The interview will then only ask questions that are related to the topics you selected, allowing you to quickly complete your tax return.
  • The Jump to Section feature allows you to go directly to a specific section of the interview that you have already completed.
• Information slip data is entered on screens that look just like your slips
• Prepare tax returns for 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and beyond
  • Prepare up to 20 tax returns for each year. There are no income level limitations or extra fees per tax return.
  • The software update for GenuTax Standard that includes the ability to prepare tax returns for 2011 is now available.
• Use NETFILE to send your return directly to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) over the Internet (available for 2011 tax returns only, starting on February 13, 2012)
  • The software update for GenuTax Standard that includes the ability to use NETFILE for 2011 tax returns should be available for download by the middle of February 2012.
• Print your tax return using any Windows-compatible printer. The printed forms are approved by the CRA.
• Tax returns for spouses or common-law partners can be prepared together, allowing for the transfer of certain credits from one spouse or partner to the other
• Carry forward of tax data from one year to the next (e.g. from 2010 to 2011)
• Handles most tax situations. Certain restrictions apply.
• Prepares returns for all provinces and territories. (Residents of Quebec may use GenuTax Standard to prepare their federal tax returns that are to be sent to the Canada Revenue Agency. However, GenuTax Standard does not support the completion of the Quebec provincial tax return which is to be sent to Revenu Québec.)
